WASHINGTON, D.C. (KDAL) - Nine tribes in Minnesota will share in over 18.4 million dollars in Indian Housing Block Grants.  The funds are distributed to eligible Indian tribes for a range of affordable housing activities.  The grants include 3.6 million dollars to the Fond Du Lac Band, over a million dollars to the Bois Forte Band and 372 thousand dollars to the Grand Portage Housing Authority.  The Housing and Urban Development Midwest Regional Administrator says the grants will help provide safe and affordable housing to Native American families in Minnesota.
